The Sheriff was notified at 10:30 PM on August 18, 2013 that shooting was going on at the illegal US Forest Service's Candy Rock Quarry Gun Range in Hathaway Pines.
This is a common problem that neither the USFS nor the Calaveras Sheriff does anything about.
There was also a complaint of illegal shooting on Blake Lane in Valley Springs on August 18, 2013 at 6:07 PM; three rifle shots were heard close to the house. The Sheriff took no report.
