About a thousand people were gathered to watch an old PG&E plant implode in Bakersfield Saturday.
When a man across the street from the implosion was heard screaming, officials state that apparently shrapnel from the explosions struck his lower body.
The man, whose name has not been released, may lose both of his legs due to the injuries. Others received minor injuries from the shrapnel.
