It has long been believed that people who have even minor strokes often behave much differently afterward,
and doctors now seem to think it is true.
For instance a Brazilian man who had a stroke could not stop spending money on anyone who would ask him, often causing his family financial hardships.
Others have reported depression associated with a person who has had a stroke. It now turns out that there is more evidence of mental problems associated with stroke victims. Too often, however, they are not given the proper mental treatment.
