Last week we sent the Planning Department a request for copies of the permit, ficticious name
statement, etc. making the Little Trees Wellness marijuana dispensary legal.
Today we received a letter from Planning indicating they have absolutely no knowledge of any store of that type in the County records.
Then we sent Supervisors Callaway, Edson, Ponte and Wright an email asking WHY? They are operating!
Not only has Callaway harassed legal businesses in Ebbetts Pass (a little donut store couldn't make it because she cost him so much to open.) She kills real businesses!!
Last week all 5 of our so-called Supervisors denied a contractor the right to build on 10 acre lots four homes on totally phony trumped up so-called planning LAW?
A couple of them even lied and said they are pro-growth and pro-job!!
But they can allow retail sales of pot for their closest friends; and we hear they are closest friends. No wonder we have so much drug crime and there are no jobs in Calaveras County.
We believe these 5 Supervisors want more pot-heads and less working people in their districts. It is clear by the way they vote; against hardworking people who want to build the county up, but for the pot-heads.

Medical marijuana user here! Titanium rods in my back. Screws drilled into my vertebrae... 55 yo. Been in construction management for 34 years. Responsible family man.. Two daughters, four grandchildren... And I don't like pain pills!!

These medical dispensaries provide jobs! Look at what is happening in the states of Colorado & Washington! Jobs and tax $$$ from legal pot!
It's folks like you who have these laughable preconceived opinions of medical marijuana! This isn't your high school pot party! Nor is it your shady neighbor selling dope to 14yo's!!
So educate yourself about pain management! Medical marijuana is a "REAL" business who pays a store front rent, pays taxes, creates jobs, and provides a service to the community. Welcome to 2013!
Personally, I don't think this was dissing marijuana in general, but the fact that certain businesses are allowed to run without being legal. I do believe that Calaveras County passes a strict ordinance that said marijuana stores had to have a conditional use permit. It turns out this one doesn't even have a business license. Don't you think this is more about Callaway and her corrupt policies?

The author IS dissing medical marijuana. Callaway? I've already gone toe to toe with her and wupped her rear! So if you say she's corrupt, then support another candidate. It takes more than calling folks out over your morning coffee. It takes time to unseat a strong incumbent. And you better make darn sure you have a candidate ready for a fight! And a candidate who passes your litmus test. I've read too many times folks regretting who they've voted for. Just be careful for what you wish for!

We have the Ebbetts Pass Republicans to thank for Callaway. Old people who are anti-job because they'll never work again. NIMBY's too!!

She knows there could never be formative opposition as long as you BOS haters never get your stuff together!! ya'll need to organize, document, blog responsible stories (not just name calling), be highly visable at meetings, keep an open mind!
Our government from local to national has lost the art of negotiation and compromise. Folks have forgotten how well living in a grey area was! Now you are either on one side of another. No more middle ground. And that's too bad!
Btw, in response to going toe to toe, I did it as apart or a very organized effort. Did it on her territory, by the BOS rules, and completely within County regulation! It didn't come easy. It took some time.
And we happened to win against her vote. But, you move on. I know Callaway didn't lose sleep over it. You win some you lose some.
Beat her on her turf and you'll earn the respect. Keep up the name calling and you play right into her web!
Oh, you don't kknow Callaway. She will get even with you. She always does. She just pretends to be nice. Dirty creeps support her and do her dirty work for her. You know everyone says she runs that what do you call it "Halloween church" I think.
