On the Nevada/California border, a solar plant, the largest in the world, has opened in the Mojave Desert.
The plant can power 140,000 homes.

There is a lot of large solar farms being installed on former Williamson Act properties in the valley. Look just past the local prison, on the left. There is a completed solar project.
