Possible hazardous spill closes San Andreas Schools

According to CHP, Larry Noble (58) of Livermore was driving at 2008 Peterbilt on private
property located at 675 Gold Oak Road in San Andreas.

The Peterbilt was loaded with 1000-1500 gallons of Sodium Hypochlorite, Hazmat Placard 1791.

Noble was making a right turn with his tractor trailer combination on a paved asphalt surface when the right rear tires of the trailer left the paved surface.

The trailer then dropped several inches onto an unimproved shoulder due to the unsafe turning movement.

The tractor and trailer overturned onto their right sides. There was no release of hazardous materials as a result of the collision.

Mr. Noble was taken to Modesto Memorial Hospital with major injuries as a result of the accident.

San Andreas Fire Department Chief Don Young assumed incident command duties. The local schools were closed for safety reasons as they righted the tractor trailer.
