Anthony (Tony) Mladinich of Valley Springs

    On Tuesday, March 14, 2017 Anthony Lawrence Mladinich, son of Luis and Lucy Mladinich died at his home in Valley Springs after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 89.

   Mr. Mladinich was born April 29, 1927 in Oakland.  He retired from the glass manufacturing business after 43 years of serving as Quality Control Manager, Mod Shop Manager and Personnel Manager.

   A veteran of WWII, he lived in Castro Valley until moving to Valley Springs with his wife Kay 11 years ago.

   He was a member of the Glass Retiree's Club, Buon Tempo Club, SIR's 96 and was an avid golfer.  He loved fishing, hunting, horseracing, watching football and partying with his friends.

   He was a gourmet cook, could build anything and was a perfectionist in everything he did.

   Mr. Mladinich is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kay Mladinich, sons David Mladinich of Pleasanton, Gary Mladinich of Livermore and daughters Sandra Panattoni of Valley Springs and Mara Repki of San Leandro, grandsons Jake Panattoni and James Bapitista, granddaughter Lynnaya Repke, two great grandchildren, niece Shari Kirmer and cousins Jube Jaramillo and Doris Risdal.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank.

   A Vigil was held on Monday March 20 at 6:30 PM at San Andreas Memorial Chapel. Mass is being held today Tuesday March 21 at 10 AM at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in San Andreas. A Celebration of Life will follow at Gold Creek Estates Club House.

   Committal will be on Thursday March 23 at 2 PM at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 5810 Midway Road in Dixon.

   San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
