According to CHP, on March 11, 2017 around 3:20 PM Joseph Bautista (56) of Union City was driving a 1998 Ford Econoline on Hwy 26 in Mokelumne Hill when his vehicle turned to the right.
Mr. Bautista overcorrected and the van hit the embankment on the opposite side of the roadway. He suffered major injuries and was taken to Sutter Amador Hospital. Alcohol and or drugs were not determined to be a factor in this crash.
