Next week, July 17-21, 2017 Caltrans will be working to widen and improve the entrance area to Big Trees State Park. One-way traffic with 10 minute delays should be expected.
Although very controversial, Big Trees had all the Sequoias in that area clear-cut so that they could do this work. There was quite a stir about it because people did not feel they were property notified and did not want the Sequoias cut down for any reason.
