California fires affect New York weather

Last night on the 11th Hour with Brian Williams on MSNBC he closed with a look at the weird weather that residents in New York have been complaining about.

Lots of rain, but when its not raining and the sun is out, the sky appears grey and the sunsets and sunrises are reddish.

Williams reported that the National Weather Service says it is caused by smoke from all the fires in California drifting all the way across the country to New York before being cleared away in the Atlantic Ocean.
