On August 24, 2018, according to the CHP report, Shawn K. Scott (49) of Millbrae, was riding his 2006 Harley Davidson
on Hwy 4 near Poole Station Road at approximately 60 MPH behind Barbara Dunker (76) of Angels Camp who was driving a 1990 Dodge Ram.
David Osuma (41) of Modesto was driving a 2013 Freightliner Semi, headed eastbound on Hwy 4.
While illegal passing Dunkel, crossing over the double yellow lines per CHP, Scott observed the semi coming the other way, but neither was able to stop and the semi struck the motorcycle head-on.
Scott was thrown to the ground into the eastbound lane. Debris from the impact struck Dunkels vehicle, causing damage, but no injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
Scott was flown to Memorial Medical Center with major injuries. Hwy 4 was blocked in both directions for over an hour.
