And another one "Bites the Dust" in Calaveras

As usual, Calaveras County Planning Directors come and go in an unending controversial downward spiral of
Planning Directors who have personal agendas, conflicts of interest and violate common codes of honor.

Rumors are flying as to Planning Director Willis's new employer. One person who apparently knew her when she worked for the City of Oakley as Community Development Director (remember that title?) said when she knew she had worn out her welcome here, she may have been offered a job by a big developer she at one time fought to hurt daily in the Contra Costa County area; but we have not been able to confirm that.

There are others, but she didn't try to hide the fact that her personal agendas were controversial, or that there weren't plenty of people glad to see her leave.

Her close relationships with the environmentalists and hatred of any builders or developers was well known and felt throughout the county.

Several have told us that she could continue smiling big while she was "stabbing you in the back"! Many have said she tried to take "food off the table of any children" of builders or developers.

Then there was her strange relationship with a man named Al Segalla, who never could stop praising everything she did, and on film in public. And he was supposed to be representing taxpayers?

That is the problem with Department heads who don't know how to find a middle ground. If you watch the videos of the Planning Commission meetings, you know what we mean.

Especially the last one, where a man named Rader said that he knew exactly what was happening at the Planning Department. Why? Because we found out that he  has a close relative there and his wife used to work there who tell him all the secrets; apparently things we aren't allowed to hear!

Then there was Tom Infusino, who is the attorney (who lives in another county), who represents the Calaveras Planning Coalition, (an extremist anti-growth group)  who said publicly that Willis requested the environmentalists all come to the meeting to object to the plan before them, in addition to writing a nasty letter.

Then the same Tom Infusino,  later on in the meeting was thanked profusely for "all his help" by the entire Planning Commission and Willis. No wonder she is so horridly controversial. How much does Infusino make in his job?

Good riddance to Willis, is our opinion!

Heck, Segalla was her biggest supporter. He was right alongside of all her decisions.

What are you talking about. Segalla never makes any sense anyway. everyone knows that. most people just ignore him

Well, i'm glad willis is gone. But you're right about Al. It kind of made you sick to watch him sucking up to her all the time.

Let's see the last one took an extra $80 grand. Was that to keep her mounth shut. What will this one get?

Anonymous said...

Was this one caught sleeping with one of the Supervisors, too?

Anonymous said...

That lady can show hate in her biggest smile. She is bad news!

Anonymous said...

I didn't know Segalla was such a liberal. You just never know about people.

Anonymous said...

And can you just hear Callaway singing Willis' praises to the end of the earth? Of course! No matter what government employees do, these Supervisors praise and praise and praise them. They should be thrown out too.

I saw a video the other day of one of the Planning Commissioners actually stating that they are stopping all development of new homes because they believe it will increase property values. Are they all 5 crazy???

I agree that no one pays any attention to Al Segalla. He's a Tea Party nut, I think!

That has got to be the dumbest editoral. No proof given for any of your allegations. What were her personal agendas?
Sierra Sentinel do you believe we are a people governed by laws? Do you believe in the Constitution of the United States of America? Do you believe it allows states governing rights? Do you know there are state laws regulating general plans? Name one instance where Director Willis was not in compliance with the general plan guidelines? If you don't know, call Ponte or Edson see if they can give you any facts of negligence or malfeasance by Director Willis?
Are you going to follow through on your maleficence statement regarding a Contra Costa County developer?
Go to Ponte and Edson, ask them what are their concerns that caused their meeting with Director Willis. Was it a public invited meeting, who attended, a private, not confidential, meeting, who attended and what was the subject matter at issue? Contact them, let's see how transparent they are? Who's business was Ponte and Edson representing? That's more interesting, since Director Willis has resigned.

Don't pick on Al Segalla. He must be 115 years old this year.

Anonymous said...

I see that one of willis' fellow enviro extremist friends has reared their ugly head. And I thought everyone was only picking on poor old Segalla.

Anonymous said...

To the wordy one: At least I hope they were representing a business of some type. That's better than the rest who only represent welfare recipients. At least someone on that board must want jobs! Good for them!
Those enviros are vicious, aren't they?

Anonymous said...

I want to know what maleficence is? I don't think she was so maleficence! Just another loser who Calaveras County gets stuck with over and over again.

Now who's talking about Supervisors not allowed to meet with department heads? How funny! Callaway and Tryon always have met either in person or over the phone to make sure THEIR employee at the Planning Department does what they want in THEIR district. So now Willis' friends don't like it? Whoa!

Anonymous said...

It certainly is true that it is the pro-welfare vs the pro-job forces in the county. so far, it seems that welfare is winning. I don't want to live in a welfare county, so I guess we are moving. You wacko tea party and welfare types can have it to yourselves.

Anonymous said...

If it's true that POnte and Edson met with Willis, that's a good thing. Callaway always demands to know what is going on? I agree with the previous person that it's a good thing if at least 2 Supervisors are trying to bring jobs here. I've been out of work for over a year and I don't want to be a welfare recipient.

Anonymous said...

Don't you find it interesting that Willis cries "foul" when Supervisors who don't agree with her views want to talk, but is fine with it when Callaway or others who do agree with her want to talk. Such a county!!! She needs to go!

Anonymous said...

This is almost as much fun as thepinetree.
Will information as to what they all talked about be addressed to the public? I rather doubt it, since Ms. Willis has resigned. Typical Calaveras County, we'll never know what the issues were.
Didn't the wordy one ask the Sierra Sentinel to question Supervisors Edson and Ponte? I don't see any positive response from the Sentinel.
Usually, they respond to the positive right away. What's up?
I'm confused, I haven't seen any comments from Ms. Willis other than the letter of resignation on the Enterprise. What are you talking about?

The moral of this story? There is none. The whole county of Calaveras lacks any type of moral compass.
It's a sad day in our society when a lynch mob mentality led by a suspect blogger takes the decision making process away from our elected officials!

Anonymous said...

Dear moral: I think that's the whole problem. A Planning department head and her pro-welfare buddies tried to take the decision making process away from our elected officials. When a department head begins believing they really are the GOD above all, even the bosses (BOS)in order to help her friends, that's when the moral compass is screwed.

Anonymous said...

That's right! The Board of Supervisors are the elected ones. The Planning department tried to take the decision away from the people (our elected Representatives). Just because the "mouthy" ones get her ear more, doesn't mean there aren't people in this county who want to work! Good riddance to bad rubbish!!

Anonymous said...

To the one who claims to be "Moral" amid a county without, I thank whatever "blogger" you are referring to for making this public. The Planning Department should be led by someone who has a open mind and doesn't try to turn "guidance" into her own law!!

Anonymous said...

Again, more name calling and inuendo. Can't anyone carry on a conversation without this? Are you an expert in public service? Is this your idea of creating jobs? By ridding the County of people who rub you the wrong way?
So, should the BOS send their recommendations for the new planner by you? I'm sure you are well aware of the required qualifications! I pity any who have to work under such conditions! Don't let the quite countryside fool you. Don't let that smile from a neighbor fool you. You're dead meat if you give out your private cell number of tell those not to respond to "All" in a email. Lol! You guys crack me up! Too bad it's at the expense of someone's job!

After reading all this, it looks to me like Willis is the one with vicious, nasty friends.

Anonymous said...

That's probably just Segale, still in love with her.

Anonymous said...

You people are funny. The Drama. Good Grief. Do you really think that people are "Pro Welfare" and "Anti Job"?? What possible benefit could that be for anyone? You are using phrases to incite anger. Yet year after year that kind of rhetoric gets the county nowhere. The real problem is that Calaveras County has bad policy. A general plan that has been under construction forever and implied rules that cannot be enforced. Has it dawned on anyone that the county is to blame....not Willis, not Moreno and not Sellman. They worked with what they had.....and it was bad. As long as the county insists on proviiding employees with garbage, that is all they can work with. Blame your supes, not the employees. Your killing the messenger instead of the rule maker and that is why nothing ever changes. Like her or not....Rebecca Willis was implementing bad policy because that's all we have!!

Anonymous said...

Have you read the new General Plan she wrote. Now that's bad policy. She has ears only for her few buds! Not for the working people, and certainly not for the Board, her bosses!!!!

Anonymous said...

Hey, be careful. It's Segalla, not Segale!!

Anonymous said...

You know, of course, that Supervisor Callaway, who has this "perpetual hatred" for builders and developers has stated on film that she wanted to get as much passed as she could while the builders were "down" and not able to fill the Supervisor chambers. For example the RIM fee increase. Do you call that pro-job or pro-welfare, wordy?

Anonymous said...

Looks like this is the hot subject of the day! You are right about Callaway. And if she has told Edson or Ponte they have no right to go to Planning with their concerns of someone's behavior, she should be recalled. No one controls the county departments like Callaway. She has a snitch in every single office. And the Clerk tells her absolutely everything that goes on. Why do you think SHE got hired, instead of someone qualified for the job? Couldn't be DIRTY POLITICS could it? Just ask just about anyone in Murphys!!

Anonymous said...

Someone just told me that they think the computers at the county have been updated with email tracking devices so they can look at what every employee is doing. This person says the union okayed it. Is that true? I know that most companies are doing this, too, but I didn't think the SEIU would allow it.

Anonymous said...

I thought Segalla was a right wing tea party guy! How did he get mixed up with Willis?

Anonymous said...

Al Segalla once told me he was really a moderate. But Willis sure got her hooks into him good. I've heard him say over and over again how wonderful she is. It's on film, too! So I don't really know what he is.

Anonymous said...

No one with any credibility would have anything to do with that Tea Party bunch anyway. Ignore him!

Anonymous said...

lol, lol, lol

Anonymous said...

Maybe they'll make that guy who gave the strange report her job! That's the ticket!!

Anonymous said...

Yes I have read the general plan...and revisions of the general plan and revisions of the revisions. and I have watched the county waste time on money on community plans that will never be approved. Rebecca Willis AND those before her did what the BOS and the powers that be advised her to do. That means the people who show up and speak up. You can hude behind a computer and call names.....or you can show up and speak out. Because the dqueaky wheel gets the oil

Anonymous said...

Let's see now. At least two of these close friends of Willis' do not work anywhere but to fight against jobs in the county. You see three of the at every single meeting. They have no other life. And then there are those who do have to work for a living. This is not a fair way to handle this; professionals paid for their time vs. the public who has NO CHANCE to make the Planning Department to listen to them. They do exactly what these paid professionals tell them to do. The rest of the county is left out. The people who work or want to work are left out! You are right the squeaky wheel gets the oil. The trouble is, they get all the oil. The entire way its set up is against the people who want to increase jobs! There is something wrong with that!

Anonymous said...

@lets see now... It's about being professional, patient, persistent, and polite.
It's about developing a plan. Be proactive rather than reactive! Stop setting yourself up for failure by pointing fingers at others when you should have the courage to stand up on your own! " this is not a fair way to handle this..."! Whaaaaaaaaa !!
Where would this country be if folks gave up as easily as this? You want to create jobs? How? Where? Why? When? Hmmm?

Anonymous said...

Oh, you mean like the angry defenders of willis. They are happy, polite, and persistent as long as they get their way, but look out when someone challenges them and says the Planning Director is not a good one. Then the vicious attacks begin.

Anonymous said...

I'm not defending her. She's gone. You got results! I want YOU as our planning director! I have to ask what are your ideas for this county? Let's see YOUR plan for success! YOU have the education in community development. YOU have the previous job experience! YOU can create JOBS!!
Please accept this offer. The county needs your planning expertise! I assume you'll approve most construction. That's good. What's next? We're all ears!
(Crickets)....

Mintier and associates wrote the General Plan, not Ms. Willis.
Mintier followed the lastest government pushed UN society plan.

Since we've had a planning Director that was following the law, keeping the county out of financially unsustainable lawsuits; maybe we need to go the other way. Hire someone, right there is a job filled, who will ignore the state and county regulations. We don't need no stinkin regulations. Then full steam ahead. FULL EMPLOYMENT! Substandard roads (that's not new), Lack of water supply, Lack of sewer capacity, floaters in Lake Tulloch and then ghost towns. Wait a minute, that's what we have now, due to the past and present failures of the elected leaders (5). Nothing has changed, except there is a Planning Director position open, AGAIN! I shouldn't forget, higher costs to do business in Calaveras County.
How about a Calaveras County Chart of what needs to be done, for public viewing? Number one on the list: 1. Stop lying to the public (taxpayers).
Feel free to add to the chart.
