As of 7:30 AM the USFS reports that 133,980 acres have been burned in the Rim Fire. Containment is still only 7%. They say that continued line construction will proceed where accessibility and safety allows.
Early this morning, people in Ebbetts Pass tell us, you could hear the big planes that were dumping retardant and water on the Rim Fire.
People who live near the fire watch these giant planes come low between the mountain ranges to dump their retardant. A dangerous job. Everyone is hoping they will get control of this fire soon.
