August 11, 2013: Eydie Gorme, who was the singing partner with her husband Steve Lawrence, has died in Los Angeles. She was 84.

I can remember in the mid sixties, the huge phonograph in my parents living room. A regular piece of furniture! They'd pile 10 records on the player for their pool parties, open the sliding door and cranked it up! And from those speakers came Steve & Edyie, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, and every once in awhile I snuck in a Cosby or Red Foxx comedy album and my sister would sneak in a Beach Boys 33-1/2! Fun memories! RIP Edyie!
