When Anne Forrest wants something, she certainly gets it. The City Engineer has now written
a letter to the State of California requesting that only the Downtown portion of Angels Camp be designated as the business district of the City, and to include Vallecito Rd. out to the Bypass.
This will probably include new signs off Hwy 4 to only turn right, not left for the business district of Angels Camp. Insanity appears to reign fully at the City Council.
Of course this motion, as are literally all of her requests, was moved by Councilmember Lynch and the Council approved it. Unbelievable!.
All of the organizations she represents got more of our tax money this year, too, in spite of the fact that not one speck of proof of their positive good has reached any of our ears.
KEEP SPENDING! KEEP SPENDING! "Whatever she wants, cause she does so much for us!" Yes, that is what they tell us is the reason they throw money at her.
What about the taxpayers? They do NOTHING for you?
First the City wanted Hwy 4 to get a bypass and now that they have it they complain and want special signs erected to direct MORE TRAFFIC to the Downtown Angels Camp area.
Many of us remember people downtown begging for the bypass to get rid of the unnecessary traffic in front of their businesses. They also wanted to be able to close down for parties.
We don't get it! Make up your minds. No doubt that the Downtown area businesses are in trouble. That has been going on for some time. Trying to force people to avoid Uptown businesses is a bit absurd, however.
What is perfectly clear is that Anne Forrest is in full control of this City Council! If the residents want a change to that they need to elect new City Council people who can think for themselves.
