Is it True? Is Calaveras Tea Party Supervisor Spellman quitting? Head TURKEY?

We just heard a rumor that Tea Party Supervisor Darren Spellman of District 5 in Rancho Calaveras may have decided to throw in the towel, rather than face what is sure to be a formidable and popular Steve Kearney as opponent. We have asked Spellman and have not yet received a response.

This would not surprise most, since very few people actually believe Spellman could ever win another term in Calaveras County. Will the current Board of Supervisors make him HEAD TURKEY for 2014? He is vice-chair now!

He probably knows he doesn't have a ghost of a chance. Someone told me he doesn't like McClintock and is running against him for Congress now. Figures

So that's who the Tea Party is primarying McClintock with. I heard about that. Good luch, Spellman.

Delusions of grandeur. That's Spellman. I'm surprised he's not spending more time in Washington DC. The Tea Party needs him to run against McClintock.

Do you think McClintock is as vulnerable as Lungren was. Someone will probably be able to knock him out if they are good. Who should run? If Spellman gets some of the Tea Party vote it could really help.

I think he's smart not to run again in Rancho. Maybe he could move and run in LA where people don't know him.

You guys are forgetting that he still has his Tea Partyer friends.

What you kind folks forget, Mr. Spellman won the election against incumbent Thomas. He won against the "can't count" recall campaign.
Please tell me what's so formidable about Mr. Kearney? As for popular, who is he? What makes him better than anyone else?
I wonder if Mr. Kearney will start attending BOS meetings to get a feel of how things are run? Let his presence be known?
I for one, won't count Spellman out until the final vote is counted or he declares he won't run again which is doubtful.
What if the lady from the school district runs? Three campaigners are better than two.
Know who you're voting for. The person concerned about the district's constituents not his or her pension account.

Do you mean that Crane woman? She just runs for everything and never wins anything.

I read some where that education in reading and comprehension was lacking in this county.
No, not Crane, the lady from the school district. S C H O O L D I S T R I C T. School District. Okay, go to the head of the class.

SPELLMAN has declared his candidacy.
Spellman vs. Kearney, a third candidate is needed. This race needs to go to the general election next November.
Why? The political advertising will sustain a few jobs in this county. Let's hope the candidates spend their campaign money, here, in this county.

Spellman would want a third candidate to try and divide the opposition to his re-election. The two are just fine, and it will be a clear choice.

Yeah, you keep thinking that. You keep bitching about Ponte, Edson, Callaway, Wright. Edson is the only one that ran against two others. One of the others was the incumbent. If the third person had not been there, I don't believe Edson would have won in the primary. Look at the numbers.
