Something about Rancho's Steve Kearney

We recently requested a little information about Steve Kearney, candidate for District 5 Supervisor for Rancho Calaveras.

While everyone knows he's a good guy,
we recently learned that he has lived in Calaveras County nearly 20 years, and retired from Long's Drugs when CVS took over the chain.

He is a graduate of San Joaquin Delta College and UC Davis with a bachelor's degree in Political Science/Public Service.

He has past experience working as a legislative aide for the California State Assembly, has been a Calaveras County Fish and Game Commissioner and a Calaveras County Planning Commissioner.

He also has been involved in many local organizations including the Valley Springs Booster's  serving as President for 10 years, and oversaw the annual "Fireworks Over New Hogan."

Steve says his reason for seeking the seat of Supervisor for his Rancho Calaveras area is an interest in seeing the economic vitality of the county restored.

He believes his experience working with business economic plans will aide him in dealing with the budget difficulties facing the county decision makers.

Additionally, he has dealt with personnel management over the life of his career and can bring a different perspective to the hiring process of key positions in the county government.

Steve told us "I regard living in the county as a privilege, not a right and want to make sure I have done everything possible to make this a better place to live."

The election takes place in June 2014.
