OP-ED: Shootings prove need for $2 MILLION for Gun Liability Insurance

UPDATE:  Another shooting in a Detroit barber shop leaves 10 wounded and 3 dead.
The continual shootings in airports, schools, malls, even military bases proves that there needs to be a requirement for liability insurance
when you purchase any firearm.

If it is taken and used by another individual because you did not have it locked up in a safe place, you should be liable for the consequences.

If you buy a vehicle, you are required to buy insurance for liability if it causes harm to others. Why not guns, which are much more dangerous? $ 2 MILLION PER WEAPON SHOULD COVER IT.

Does regular regular household insurance cover that stuff?

someone has to be responsible. if they are just locked up, then no one can get to them.
