Burson Man Arrested at Starbucks

On February 2, 2014  Calaveras Sheriff's Deputies received a report of an adult male propositioning a 10 year old girl on Facebook.

The male suspect allegedly asked the girl, whom the suspect reportedly knew, to be 10 years old, to meet him for sexual intercourse.

The deputies, masquerading themselves as the 10 year old victim, used Facebook to communicate with the suspect, who was identified as Dylan Ray Mills (19), of Burson.

During the Facebook communication with the deputies, suspect Mills made sexually explicit statements.

He stated that he would meet the deputy, whom he thought was the victim, at the Starbucks coffee shop in Valley Springs.

At 10 PM, as the deputies were conducting surveillance at Starbucks, they received information that suspect Mills had just left a message for the victim stating that he was in front of Starbucks.

Deputies located suspect Mills sitting in his vehicle in front of Starbucks and took him into custody.

He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on the charges of Penal Code 288.3:  Contacting or Communicating with a Minor for the Purpose of Engaging in Certain Lewd and Lascivious Behavior (felony).

During the subsequent interviews, after his arrest, suspect Mills admitted to the Facebook conversations with the victim.
