One of the problems with the Calaveras Sheriff (he calls himself sheriff rick) is that the reports made by concerned citizens of gunfire too near to homes.
When Sheriff Downum was in charge they investigated and corrected each call they were able to make contact on. Now the department is lacking in protection of the average citizen.
Gunfire is reported several times a day within the illegal distance of homes and this sheriff does nothing!! NO REPORT TAKEN on each and every one!!!
Citizens are at risk until we can get rid of this careless and incompetent, not to mention uncaring sheriff in charge because he was the LEAST qualified applicant but will do what Calaveras District 3 Supervisor Oliveira tells him.
