The Pier Fire located near Springville in the Sequoia National Forest is now 23,729 acres with 30% of the perimeter contained. This fire was human caused. Mandatory evacuations are in place in Sequoia Crest, Mountain Aire, Rogers Camp, Pierpoint Springs and other towns in the area.
