UPDATE at 4 PM: Hwy 88 is still closed in this area. Several CHP units are assisting. An investigation and photo crew are en route from Auburn.This is considered a high speed
traffic collision.
October 5, 2017 at 2:05 PM: A big rig with some type of brake problem apparently struck a pedestrian in a construction zone and then ran off Hwy 88 near Columbia Drive in Pioneer.
CHP and an ambulance are responding to the scene due to major injuries .
