UPDATE: As of 8:45 AM on October 9, 2017 the Point Fire is 150 acres. No containment numbers are listed, nor if any homes lost.
The Calaveras Sheriff reports that a fire on Hwy 26 at Higdon Road has forced evacuations in the West Point area.
CalFire is at the scene. Be cautious if in the area.
