On November 26, 2017 around 6:35 PM Diana Romero (31) was driving a 2007 Lexus on Hwy 12 west of Lime Creek Road.
The speed of her vehicle was undetermined but she was passing another car in heavy rain when she collided head-on with a 2002 Jeep driven by Amy Black (40) of Columbia.
The force of the collision disabled both vehicles. Romero and her two passengers sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Mark Twain Medical Center for treatment. Black sustained major injuries and was ultimately transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center for treatment.
Romero was treated and released, upon when she was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged DUI.
