Woman dies in Hwy 26 crash

   According to CHP on November 27, 2017 at approximately 6:30 PM Mark Linneman (29) of Modesto was driving a 2005 Ford F150 westbound of Hwy 26 west of Vista Del Lago Drive in Rancho Calaveras.

  Wade McCann (19) of Valley Springs was driving a 1998 Jeep westbound on Hwy 26 in front of the Ford. When McCann stopped on Hwy 26 to turn left onto a frontage road.

   Linneman failed to notice McCann's Jeep had stopped ahead of him and allowed his vehicle t strike the rear f McCann's Jeep.

   The force of the impact caused McCann's Jeep to be pushed forward and into the eastbound lane, directly into the path of a 2014 Ford F150 driven by Rudi Leon (44) of Valley Springs. The Jeep was struck in the passenger door.

   The passenger in the right front of the Jeep was Brenda McCann, who was transported by ground ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.

    Leon was also transported to Mark Twain Hospital for minor injuries.

   Alcohol and or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision, but it is still under investigation.  Hwy 26 was blocked for 1 1/2 hours.
