These two mountain lions spent about 20 minutes lounging and playingon this Boulder Creek patio in the middle of the night, while the residents watched in awe.
They didn't cause any damage and eventually wandered off into the night. There is no hunting in the Santa Cruz Mountains, so they did not seem to be afraid of humans.

I occasionally see an old mountain lion on my property in West Point. We kinda' have an understanding, I don't bother her and she doesn't bother me. Mountain lions have a large wandering range and I'm very cautious when she's around. That's the time I have to really keep an eye on my dogs, just to be safe.
