Judith (Judy) Lynn Morris McCarroll

On the morning of May 14, 2018 Judy McCarroll passed away in her home, following a lengthy battle with
Congestive Heart Failure.

Judy is survive by her husband Dave, her two sons Mike and Charles, both of San Jose, plus four
grandchildren (Ryan, Kevin, Danny, Levi) and her brother John from Orange County.

Judy was born in 1947 to John and Jane Morris in Inglewood. John was from Carlsbad, New Mexico and Jane was from Bel Aire, Ohio. Both are deceased.

The family soon moved to Salt Lake City, where Judy spent the first eight years of her life. Then they moved to Pasadena, where she graduated rom Pasadena High School a year early especially to attend USC.

She joined Chi Omega sorority there.  After 3 years at USC she married Dave and finished her BA in History at UCLA while he was in Graduate School there.

After her graduation, she became womens' clothing buyer for the May Co. Department Stores. This involved monthly trips to New York City to make purchases.

Eventually she an Dave settled down and raised a family in suburban Hacienda Heights fro 1973 -2003.  They retired to Murphys Gold Country in 2004. She loved the beauty and character of Calaveras County.

Judy will be remembered as a very well organized and community oriented individual. In Hacienda Heights she performed contracts for the LA County Board of Supervisors regarding Youth demographics and needs.

This include Celebration of Youth events at local parks to thwart the effect of gangs. In Murphys, she became involved in her homeowners association, and served eight years as a Forest Meadows Board member.

She was a lifelong member of AAUW (the American Association of University Women) and supported their local efforts to provide summer science camps for girls.

Judy's family greatly appreciates the support we have received. A Celebration of Life for Judy will be held on June 9, 2018 at 2 PM at the Forest Meadows Hill Top Park. Donations in her memory may be sent to her favorite charity, the Calaveras Arts Council at calaverasarts.org.
