Injured bear on Hwy 4

UPDATE:  There is one other cub and the mother and living cub won't leave the area, not realizing the other cub has been killed by a car.

Although Caltrans put up signs for drivers to watch for bears in Ebbetts Pass, a bear
was reportedly struck and injured on Hwy 4 near Lakemont Drive in Arnold.

Apparently it was a mother and cub because it was mentioned that one was dead and the mother
bear appeared injured. Fish and Wildlife is responding.  Be cautious if in the area.

Put whistles on the front bumpers of your vehicles to give the wildlife a chance!
