Linda Weir

       Private Memorial services will be held for Linda Diane Weir, nee Gentry, of Angels Camp.
     Mrs. Weir died Monday, June 25, at home, surrounded by her animals,
after a battle with cancer.
   Linda Weir was born on January 26, 1951 in Watsonville. She attended Aromas Elementary School, Watsonville High School and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she majored in journalism.
     After graduation she worked for the Sun Bulletin and Telegram Tribune, and was also a dispatcher for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department.
     She married Charles (Chuck) Weir in 1983 and soon after the couple purchased a 20 acre ranch in Angels Camp.
     She lived her dream life, surrounded by horses, dogs and cats, many of which she had rescued.
    She devoted much of her time to animal rights causes and was a member of the Humane Society of Calaveras County and the Morris Animal Foundation.
     She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Chuck; mother Wanda Gentry of LIncoln; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Jim Udsen of Brazil; niece and nephew Steve and Nicole Udsen of Brazil and numerous cousins.
     Mrs. Weir was preceeded in death by her father, Wayne Gentry.
      In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Morris Animal Foundation or the Calaveras Humane Society.
