Protesters outside Twitter Headquarters (oppose Gentrification!)

Announcing that they were protesting the "gentrification" of San Francisco, protesters were outside of the Twitter Corporate Headquarters in the City this morning.

We had to look up "gentrification" to make sure we understood what the meaning was in this case.

When well-off people move into an area and improve it, the result is that rents go up and the poorer residents are pushed out is what we believe they mean in this instance.

San Francisco has areas around Twitter that are not as well-off as other areas, and these protesters believe that Twitter will bring in more rich people and force the existing residents out.

Another definition: Gentrification, the immigration of middle-class people into a deteriorating or recently renewed city area.
Is today's middle class also the senior citizens?
