Smoky skies caused by USFS burning

UPDATE:  We received information that indeed, the USFS is burning more in the Rim Fire area. They say its to improve habitat.

We have had many questions about why the skies are smoky, especially along the mountain ranges.

Usually CalFire can answer what fire may be causing the smoke, but this time they have said that it is the USFS burning in the forests that is causing the smoke.

We have sent an email to Susan Skalski about this, and have not yet received a reply. Are they too busy helping the logging companies make money out of the Rim Fire to answer questions?
