The ballot measure in Stockton to raise the sales tax to 9% passed with only about 21% on registered voters showing up at the polls.
This is part of their bankruptcy and will help them return to solvency in a few years, according to the City Council.

Is this what Calaveras taxpayers have to look forward to?
It's sad, those who caused the collapse or budget deficits are not held accountable. Instead, they get to retire after being voted out. No accountability!
