Tea Party puts up Tim Donnelly for Governor

Assemblyman Tim Donnelly has announced that he is running against Jerry Brown for Governor of California as a Tea Party Patriot. He's really running against fellow Republican Maldonado.

This whole battle is so sad for the Republicans, who at one time were a formidable political party in California, and no one believes that either has a chance of beating Brown.

Donnelly also says the only thing sexy in California is his wife. We aren't sure what that is about. This ought to assure Jerry Brown of a wide margin of victory in his re-election.

As Dan Walters says "This is more about the fight within the Republican Party between the supposed moderate Abel Maldonado and the Tea Party, and they will be hitting on each other more than on Jerry Brown to see who will lead them in the future.
