Traffic Accident in Copperopolis

According to CHP, on November 10, 2013 at around 3:30 PM Mike Donahue (48) of Pittsburg was driving a 2003 Ford Focus while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

While headed southbound on Littlejohn Rd, south of Copper Cove Drive at approximately 45-50 MPH Donahue claims a dark colored sedan traveling northbound on Littlejohn Road crossed over and was traveling northbound in the southbound lane.

Donahue steered his Ford to the right in an attempt to avoid a collision, according to the CHP report and the Ford left the paved roadway.

The Ford traveled on the gravel shoulder with Donahue steering to the left in an attempt to correct the Ford's path of travel.

Donahue was unable to maintain the last edge of littlejohn Road, collided with a street sign and wooden post, then overturned an unknown number of times, before coming to rest on its wheels.

Donahue was able to exit the Ford on his own, and wait for emergency personnel.

Donahue was evaluated at the scene, according to CHP, to determine his level of sobriety and was subsequently placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

Donahue was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
