Twin brothers die together in Valley Springs

UPDATE on November 14, 2013:  Apparently a power outage lasting an hour may have contributed to the boys' deaths. The Sheriff is still investigating.

On November 12, 2013 at 4 PM Calaveras County Sheriff's Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a medical distress at a residence on the 5000 block of Rippon Road in Valley Springs.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene, and upon arrival they found two 22 year old twin brothers who appeared to be in respiratory distress.

The deputies initiated CPR and requested EMS personnel to respond.  The brothers, who suffered from a long-term illness and were under the care of a doctor, were connected to breathing ventilatyors for life support.

The brothers were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Sheriff's detectives responded to the house to conduct an investigation into the deaths.  The mother, Julia Hall, was at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Detectives seized the brothers' medical apparatus for examination.  The cause of death will be determined during a post-mortem examination.

The circumstances behind the deaths of the brothers are being investigated and more information will be released when available.  The names of the brothers are being withheld at this time pending notification to other family members.
