As the first item of business, the Calaveras Supervisors, led by Supervisor Mills, elected Michael Oliveira to be Board Chair in 2017. Jack Garamendi was elected Vice-Chair.
Members of the public mentioned the chaos of last year's election and running of the Board and treatment of the voters of Calaveras County. Supervisor Clapp voted against Oliveira.
Only one person spoke in favor of Oliveira from his own district; that was Alice Montgomery, a member of his gun club campaign committee!!
