Andy Griffith, who played the beloved Sheriff on "The Andy Griffith Show" and many others along the way in his TV career, passed away peacefully at his home in North Carolina at around 7 AM this morning, June 3, 2012. He was 86.
His career covered many decades and colorful characters and he will be remembered by all generations for his natural acting ability and portrayal of down-to-earth men who help society in some way.
