Sexual Assault Reported in Angels Camp


Angels Camp Police Department Press Release on July 11, 2012

     On 07/09/12, at approximately 4:00 P.M., an officer responded to a reported sexual assault that occurred in the swimming pool at the Worldmark Resort time shares in Angels Camp.
     A sixteen (16) year-old victim reported that
she was touched inappropriately several times by a male while she was in the swimming pool at the resort.

      Additionally, the male suspect reportedly exposed his genitals to the female victim, also while in the swimming pool.

      The victim reported the incident to her foster mother, who notified resort staff who then notified police.
    
     By the time police arrived the suspect had left the swimming pool area, and police obtained a detailed physical description of the suspect from the victim.

      Police conducted a door-to-door search of seven of the buildings, in an attempt to locate the suspect, but the attempt to locate the suspect was unsuccessful.

     The male suspect was reported to be 40-50 years old, average height and weight, medium to dark complexion, with balding grey and black hair.

      He was reportedly wearing a multi-colored (blue, white, red, yellow) soccer style jersey, with "FIJI" in white letters on the front of the jersey and the number "20" on the back of the jersey.

     He was reportedly wearing burgundy colored swim trucks with a black stripe on the leg. He was also reported to be with two young children, one male and one female, that he identified to the victim as his niece and nephew.

     As of this date the suspect remains unidentified.
