Signs of Homelessness in Calaveras County

Camping, such as in this photo,
is sometimes a last resort
for those who are homeless.
The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department receives more reports these days involving tenant landlord disputes and other signs of a bad economy in Calaveras County, including homelessness.
Yesterday, July 7, 2012,  Deptuies responded to a report of people having a yard sale at a residence in Valley Springs from which  they had been evicted, and a report in Angels Camp of a campsite found on property off Dogtown Road.
Of course, there was also the dispatch out to a homeless brown cow on Appaloosa Road.

Unless the economy returns, we are likely to see many more of these types of problems.
