You may have noticed that once in awhile SierraSentinel.com staff removes or blacks out certain comments that are made on a variety of subjects.
While we encourage free speech, everyone needs to remember that using names of employees or other private people, if unproven, could be subject to legal questions.
If you have evidence or are a witness and sign your name, we will usually allow it. If you don't, it's better to leave any names out.
Elected officials, however, are legally open to criticism and their names are allowed.
If you want false accusations, or to try and hurt someone or a business for personal or political reasons, you know what website to go to. We will not allow SierraSentinel.com to become what that one has.
