LAFCO Meets July 16, 2012

     The Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCO) meets on July 16, 2012 at 6 PM in the Board of Supervisors Chambers in San Andreas.

     On the agenda to be approved is the divestiture of the Wallace Sewer and Water District,
 and an amendment making Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) the designated provider or water and sewer services for the residents of that area.

   Another item is SB244 providing relief for disadvantaged small unicorporated communities. This is a policy discussion to give direction to staff.

    Several items concerning CALAFCO, the state parent of LAFCO are on the agenda, including authorizing LAFCO staff and commissioners  to attend the CALAFCO Annual  Conference in Monterey County  October 3-5, 2012, and authorizing payment for expenses to attend. They will also appoint one LAFCO member to be the voting member and one to be an alternate at this conference.

    Aoso considering a nomination for CALAFCO repesentative for a two year term from LAFCO will be discussed at this meeting, and a nomination for the CALAFCO Achievement Award.

   Agendized will also be the cancellation or change of meeting date in August, 2012.
