Letter to the Editor: Cut Off all Tops of Trees

  Dear Editor:

With all the fuss that Supervisors Wilensky and Callaway are making over insisting on clear-cutting, and slash and burning our forests, now I hear a rumor that the Forestry is not satisfied with that either.
I hear that they are considering demanding that everyone who lives in the forest cut everything on every tree (cedars, pines, etc) 10' up from the ground and to remove the top 10' of every tree, because everyone knows that fire travels through the tree tops.
Once that is done, no one will want to live in a barren ugly forest anyway and will move away, and that way those Supervisors will get what they want.  No people at all.
The forestry officials may deny this right now, but just wait. Your property is not your own anymore. Not as long as we have Supervisors like Callaway and Wilensky.
Clear-cut, slash and burn, bottom and top the forests.
Sick of Government telling me how to manage my land.

Of course, these two Supervisors are right, you know. It's not people with their fireworks, campfires, matches and guns who start fires. It's the damn trees' fault. They start all the fires, all by themselves.
