Major injuries in Motorcycle accident near Hwy 49

   According to CHP on May 15, 2014 around 8 PM Michael Nute (51) of Sonora had a solo motorcycle accident on Springfield Road east of Hwy 49 in Sonora.

   CHP was first on scene and began to render aid to the driver of the 1983 Yahama 1200, Nute. Nute advised CHP that he was traveling at an unknown rate of speed and applied the brakes to his motorcycle, causing  it to pull to the left.

   He lost control, according to the report and is overturned, and Nute was ejected. Nute was not wearing a helmet and sustained major injuries to his head, face, elbows, knees and lower back.

   He was transported to Memorial Hospital by Tuolumne County Ambulance.
