Passenger injured jumping from Speeding Motorcycle

   On May 16, 2014 at around 12:45 AM, CHP observed a white motorcycle with a passenger traveling at a high rate of speed
on Via Este Road southbound in Sonora.

  The officer tuned on his red lights and attempted to initiate an enforcement stop. The driver of the motorcycle failed to stop.

   A pursuit ensued traversing approximately 4.4 miles. During the pursuit, the driver of the motorcycle  was observed committing multiple moving violations, including speeding, crossing double yellow lines and failing to stop at stop signs.

   As the driver of the motorcycle  made a left turn from Woodham Carne Road onto Yosemite Road, the passenger Rachel J. Knight (39) of Sonora, jumped from the rear of the motorcycle.

   CHP stopped to render aid to the injured passenger, who sustained minor injuries as a result and was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center.

    The driver of the motorcycle was not apprehended.
