On June 2, 2014 at 3:15 PM Joe G. Evans (81) of Sacramento was driving a 2013 Ford Focus southbound on Hwy 49 and stopped at the intersection with Hwy 12 in San Andreas.
Miranda I. Cardon (40) of Mokelumne Hill was driving a 2007 Ford Focus eastbound on Hwy 12 and slowing in the left turn lane to make a left turn onto Hwy 49.
As Cardon approached the intersection and started to ake her left turn, Evans made a left turn into the intersection, directly into the path of Cardon's vehicle.
Cardon was unable to take evasive action and the front of the Focus collided with the left front door of the Fusion in the intersection.
After the collision both parties moved their vehicles off the roadway and onto the shoulder. Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision.
Cardon was transported to Mark Twain Hospital with minor injuries.
