Backfiring planned on Sheep Ranch Road

UPDATE at 5 AM:  Once they start the backfires near Avery, residents need to be watchful for  burning embers more than before.

As soon as it is daylight, get a hose out
and be ready to douse anything that lands because there are no fire engines around to do it for you.

UPDATE:  An ongoing investigation into a bulldozer in the Sheep Ranch area, that is being held up by a tree in this area after a collision that occurred around 1:50 AM, is delaying the backfiring.
Photos have been taken of the dozer and surrounding circumstances.

September 13, 2015 at 3:35 AM:  Cal Fire is preparing to possibly set backfires in the area of Sheep Ranch Road and Fricot City Road.  This is about half way between Mountain Ranch Road and Hwy 4 in Avery.

Aren't their homes in the area? Not many perhaps, but there must be some. How do they avoid burning them down in the backfires?

We will try to follow these scary activities. This is where the Rim Trail runs through Ebbetts Pass.

I think they just don't know what else to do. if it blows up in their faces, I hate to think what will happen. Also, is the bulldozer operator injured? How did that happen. Will they tell us?

You're right. Underhill and her gang have refused for years to give this area any fire hydrants.

That's so true. At least the other guy, who lives in that area, was trying to get hydrants. Underhill stated that its not CCWD's problem or job at a meeting we all went to.

omgosh. everyone seems to be paying attention this morning. i'm afraid this is a last ditch effort, which has been failing for the last 5 days.

We trusted calfire and we left. not so sure that was a good thing now.

WEll, that's probably your first mistake. maybe your home's last.

Yeah, and you know what. They surrounded that stupid town of Moke hill with like 20 trucks. They MUST plan to let us burn.

I saw 4 cop cars had stopped a guy with a shopping cart along Highway 4 in Arnold this morning at 4:45am as I was coming to work. Please investigate to see if he was arrested for looting.
