Calaveras Sheriff's Office--Office of Emergency Services Press Release?

Sheriff Gary Kuntz (Office of Emergency Services for Calaveras County) has, we believe, finally released information on  a couple of updates on road closures in the Butte Fire. We do hesitate to publish it, because it is very confusing and we don't want to mislead anyone about their homes.

We aren't even sure who used the Calaveras Sheriff's Office press release site, since there is no name attached and was received email at 10:40 PM September 15, 2015.

These include what they are calling "repopulation" (very cold and impersonal term to use for those burned out or nearly burned out by the Butte Fire) information that "areas OUTSIDE the burned area include Mountain Ranch Road from Hwy 49 up to the burned areas, the east side of Calaveritas Road from Mountain Ranch south to Fricot City Road and side streets up to burned areas."

Per Sheriff Kuntz "areas south of Fricot City Road to Armstrong Road and Armstrong Road to Scott Road."(that sentence doesn't even make sense)

"Fricot City Road is still closed 1 mile east of Calaveritas intersection.  They also state that you are supposed to go to calaverasgov.us for "repopulation" information, but we tried and could find nothing, so we aren't sure what that's about.

The Calaveras Office of Emergency Services is the place responsible for informing the public and are fully in charge of all emergency situations in Calaveras County, so calling Sheriff Kuntz at 209-754-6500 should still be the best way to get information quickly and accurately.
