So far, it looks like two of our residents have died in the horrendous blazes of the Butte Fire.
We have been told that one 65 year old refused to leave when ordered and was unable to escape when the fire came to his home in the Jesus Maria Road area of Mokelumne Hill..
Another man was found in the area. He will be identified when family has been notified. No one wants to find this has happened. Will there be any others? Hopefully not!
The Butte Fire is now 45% contained.
