CHP: Rear end collision by CHP officer

According to the CHP report of the collision on June 26, 2017 at approximately 8:05 AM CHP officer Gary Soria (49) of San Andreas, was driving a 2016 Ford northbound on Hwy 49 north of Poole Station Road with another officer, Timothy Fautt
(40) of San Andreas at approximately 35 MPH.

Nowhere in this report does it indicate that the two officers were in a patrol vehicle, nor does it mention that these two are CHP officers.  We were suspicious and looked them up after reading that they were limping the vehicle back to the office this morning.

Diane Scronce (64) of San Andreas was driving a 2006 Chrysler in front of the Ford, with passengers Rick Scronce (66) of San Andreas, Maria Flores (17) of San Andreas, and Anne Curtis (18) of San Andreas.

An oversized vehicle was traveling southbound in the passing lane,  escorted by another CHP unit with emergency lights activated.

Officer Soria was looking at the oncoming unit, when the car in front of him slowed for the oversized load.

Officer Soria was not able to stop when he noticed the car in front of him slowing and he struck the rear of Scronce's Chrysler.

Diane and Rick Scronce, along with Maria Flores and Anne Curtis were all transported to Mark Twain Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The two officers, Soria and Fautt, refused treatment.  Drugs and or alcohol were not determined to be a factor in this collision, per CHP.

Are you saying they were covering up for the officers? Isn't that an abuse of power?

That same thing happened with some cop in Angels Camp. No reprt, no blame no trouble.
