Per CHP on June 25, 2017 at approximately 12:10 PM Jeremy Kulp (44) of Lodi was riding a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle with passenger Stephanie Hiatt (39) also of Lodi behind, on Hwy 26 at Rich Gulch Road at approximately 30 MPH.
Kulp entered a left hand curve in the roadway and failed to safely negotiate the curve and traveled to the right shoulder, where he lost control of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle overturned, ejecting both Kulp and Hiatt, who had traveled off a small embankment and collided with a tree.
Kulp refused treatment for his minor injuries. Hiatt was transported to Modesto Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
Alcohol and or drugs were not considered to be a factor, per CHP.
